Anime Download - How To Get Started
So you never download an anime before? Don't worry, we are going to try to provide
you with step by step instruction.
First, you must install codec software needed
to play anime video file. There are so many different codec use but don't worry about that
since there are codecs compilations somewhere on the web. Let me Google one for you.
Codec is short for 'compressor-decompressor', a piece of software that is able to decode and encode a certain format.
I personally use K-Lite Codec Pack so I'm gonna put a link for you to download it : Here
There are 3 kind of it, BASIC, STANDARD and FULL. Just pick FULL to make it simple. Download and install the codec pack.
Bittorrent, Direct download, or Streaming?
There are a few way to download an anime: Bittorrent, Direct Download or Streaming. They all have pros and cons associate with them and you can pick one that match your situation and need.
Bittorrent
Pros:
Cons:
- Need additional software, like: uTorrent or BitComet
- You have to share your bandwidth to other downloader like yourself
- If no seeder, you can't complete the download
Direct Download
Pros:
- Speed depend of the host server load
- Free
- High Quality
Cons:
- No additional software
- You don't have to share your bandwidth to other downloader like yourself
- You can always complete the download
Streaming
Pros:
- Speed depend of the host server load
- Free
- Low Quality
Cons:
- No additional software, just your browser and Flash. You don't even need to install the codec
- You don't have to share your bandwidth to other downloader like yourself
So which one is better? Depends. For me since it's free why settle for low quality crap when you can get high quality stuff for free too.
